FOH Welcomes New Staff
Tom Dodge, a Martin County native from Truman, has been hired as Managing Director of the Fairmont Opera House, replacing Michael Burgraff who served in the position for 11 years. Michael has taken a new post as Executive Director at the Black Hills Playhouse in Custer State Park, South Dakota.
Joining Tom is our new Administrative Assistant, Kathi Peterson, of Fairmont. Kathi keeps our regular office hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Also new to the Fairmont Opera House Executive Board are Jenny Jepsen and Sue Daleiden of Fairmont. Jenny and Sue join board members Keith Wilken (president), Bruce Peters (secretary), Jan Wolfgram (treasurer) and Lyn Chipman.
Join our Key Grip Club!
Anyone who has watched movie credits has seen the title “Key Grip.” Key Grips are the heavy lifters behind any movie or stage set. The Opera House is looking for a few volunteer key grips.
The Key Grip Club will complement the important work done by the FOH Stagehands group. We are looking for a core group of about a dozen dedicated volunteers who don't mind a little heavy lifting. (And the more lifters, the easier the lift!).
The Key Grip Club will aid in such ongoing efforts as loading in and out equipment for our subscription series and theatre performances, erecting stage risers when required, helping maintain stage apparatus (raising and lowering curtains, cyclorama, movie screen, etc.), painting the stage and general FOH upkeep.
The Key Grip Club is a great way to become involved at FOH, make friends and do some great things for your community. Oh, and did we mention the T-shirts?
Fairmont Opera House would like to thank all the volunteers who have dedicated themselves to the success of our efforts for the past year. FOH couldn't exist without you!
