This has been a new and exciting year at the Fairmont Opera House and I am delighted to be an integral part of it. We have made a lot of changes and tried some new ideas. We opened a wine and strong beer bar on the mezzanine level which is doing quite well. We have held several programs that were not part of the regular subscription series and have had a fairly good response with those. These have brought in some new people that had never been to the Opera House before or hadn’t been for a very long time. We are hoping to add some new Series Subscribers and members this year by offering a variety of performances to please all ages as well as keeping our faithful patrons. We are working with other non-profits to co-write grants for equipment that can be used by everyone that uses the Opera House. I am working with area businesses to help increase and promote their business by offering to hand out their coupons at shows and offer discounts to their business by showing their ticket stub from a previous show. I believe in working together for the good of the community and in helping each other grow and become more successful.

We have several new volunteers and board members this year who have brought some new ideas and visions and found several ways to cut costs that would go virtually unnoticed unless you take a very close look.

We are also always looking for local artists to display their works in our Arneson Gallery of light.
